“Everyone knows that having a baby drastically changes your body. But a lot of times, I feel like we use that as an excuse when we’re not in shape. My youngest just turned 9, so I definitely couldn’t use “post baby body” as an excuse anymore. As I began to get close to the weight I was when I was pregnant with her, I knew I had to make a change. I had tried several fad diets, but what I needed was a lifestyle change, not just a diet. That’s when I heard about Betsy. I took the plunge and signed on for 8 weeks of nutritional counseling. I say plunge because I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, and it was going to take a lot of effort on my part. I’m a single mother who works an average of 48 hours or more most weeks, most days being 10-12 hour days. And like many children, my two are involved in a lot of activities. Needless to say, our life is pretty hectic. When you make your health and well being a priority, anything is possible. You go to the gym at 5am before you go to work, or at 7pm when you get off. You prepare your meals ahead of time, even if it takes you 3 hours to do so. As I enter my last week of working with Betsy, I’m down 13.8 pounds, almost to my goal weight in just 8 weeks! I have so much more energy, and just generally feel great! She has been a fantastic motivator and has helped me tremendously through the process. People often ask me when I’m going off my diet. Well, I’m not. And it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change!”
