I’ve traveled a long road to finding balance in my relationship with food. Eating has been my first response to all of life’s emotions. Almost exactly 4 years ago, in the summer of 2021, I found myself at the heaviest I had ever been. I was aware that something needed to give. My health and comfort level were major factors, but the biggest was the ever increasing “food noise.” I couldn’t get out from under it, and it began to affect my relationship with God, myself, and those around me.
Gratefully, a good friend suggested I call Betsy and it instantly resonated. She walked closely with me for 3 years, to the tune of a 65lb weight loss. Betsy offered me tools and accountability, helping me build the scaffolding for a healthier relationship with food. At first I had to just listen and follow. After a while I began to figure out what worked for me and became creative in a way that suited my needs.
I maintained this 65lb loss for several months until I found myself in one of the most challenging times of my life. For 6 months I slowly put back on weight until I found some humility and called her again. She was kind and understanding about my regression. Since restarting in January of 2025, I have re-lost 40 lbs! More important than the weight, my food noise is almost silent.
As the noise has cleared, I’ve had more time for quiet contemplation. I’m a much better version of myself when my mind is uncluttered. The scaffolding can be removed now because my foundation is set. Even if I fall backwards, I know I’ll bounce back.
I have felt Divine Love through the work Betsy has done with me. She wants nothing more than to help those in need of refocusing where food is concerned, and for that I am so grateful. I will call her again in a heartbeat if I ever need a recalibration, and I know she will be there with love and a smile.
