Kathryn Evans, 21 years old, lost 11 pounds

Dec 8, 2019

“A healthy diet has been a huge part of my life since childhood. Because I have always played sports, I relied on eating healthy foods to fuel my workouts. As a college student my schedule is always changing, and I found myself not eating a balanced diet. As a result, I noticed a lack of energy and gradual weight gain. In order to help me lose a few pounds, fuel my runs, and learn how to construct balanced meals, I made the decision to meet with Betsy. The first time I met with Betsy she gave me a nutritional plan with suggested meals and snacks. The most important aspect for me was to plan ahead. I learned how to cook and feel comfortable making meals in a short amount of time. She helped me combine foods to create filling meals and snacks that provided me with enough energy for runs and workouts. Many cravings or dips in energy went away, and I felt more motivated to exercise. She gave me the tools and knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle while juggling a hectic schedule. Her accountability also was a big part of the process, which helped me stay on track every step of the way. I learned how to properly fuel my body and give it the nutrients it needs to perform at my highest potential. Over the 8 weeks I worked with Betsy, I lost over 11 pounds. Even with just a small drop in weight, I feel so much more energized throughout the day. This weekend I am running my first half marathon. With the help of Betsy, I feel like this is only the beginning of a lifelong fitness journey.”
