“I’m a happily married working mom of 2 middle school kids. My weight has never been an issue for me in life. I’ve always been pretty active and generally could eat what I wanted without worrying about gaining weight. Then boom! After my 40th birthday I started packing on the extra pounds. I felt horrible. I was tired, sluggish and I felt like I was living out of my car running my kids around to every imaginable event and activity. I was typically skipping breakfast and, if time allowed, I would grab something around lunchtime just to make it until supper. Some days my first meal would be supper. I wanted a real lifestyle change. Then I met Betsy. She taught me so much about pairing my foods, the importance of eating breakfast, meal prepping, and understanding how to make it all work for my schedule and lifestyle! I was shocked the first month when she wouldn’t even let me exercise and the pounds came off. Now, 4 months later, I’m down almost 25 pounds, I have not started a regular exercise routine yet, and I’m a healthy example to my middle school daughter on why not to diet. I feel great and I don’t have mood swings throughout the day because I’m hungry. I have embraced my new lifestyle by applying Betsy’s principles without completely sacrificing foods that I enjoy and spending frustrating hours counting calories and meal prepping.
