I had just finished running the Knoxville Half Marathon and didn’t see the scale move at all. I couldn’t understand why I was working so hard but seeing no results when it came to my weight. I had tried what felt like every fad or diet on the market. I’d see some progress, but the weight would come right back as soon as I stopped one or two things.
When my wife and I met with Betsy, she was all in from the start. I, on the other hand, was hesitant—just dipping my toes in the water. I assumed it was going to be another fad or restrictive diet that would leave me starving and be impossible to maintain long term.
I remember the first weigh-in and setting both my monthly and long-term goals with Betsy. I figured I’d give it a try and see what happened—but honestly, I didn’t expect much.
Now, two years later, not only have I reached my goal—I’m 30 pounds below it. The program was simple and easy to follow, especially with the picture check-ins you send to Betsy. What finally clicked for me was realizing this wasn’t a diet. It was about learning how to eat correctly.
I was never really hungry, and in fact, it felt like I was eating more—just the right foods. I turned 40 this week, and I can honestly say I feel better than I did in my 30s. I’m more active than I’ve been in a long time and truly feel like the best years are ahead of me.
This has become a lifestyle—one I not only can stick to, but want to. Sure, we still have an occasional “cheat” meal, but we usually end up regretting it because of how awful we feel afterward.
One of the best parts? Running into people I haven’t seen in a while and seeing their reactions to the transformation. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m so grateful I stuck with it.
