It’s hard to believe the difference between these two pictures and only one of these differences is how much I weighed. I reached out to Betsy after completing my fourth Ironman. I was running myself into the ground, yet, it was the heaviest I’ve ever weighed. I looked in the mirror and couldn’t understand how I could still put on weight despite all the training I’ve logged. I was dieting, restricting, binge eating when no one was around, and obsessively working out.
My goal was to lose weight, and with Betsy’s help, I lost 15 pounds. But she taught me SO much more. It wasn’t just about what I was eating. It was my entire lifestyle. I was in the thick of my doctoral training and I was dealing with sleep deprivation, stress, and depression. Fast forward to now…I’m another 10 pounds down and I’m still in the thick of my doctorate. I prioritize sleep, mental health, and exercise in a way that complements my life, and the only diet I follow is one that matches my lifestyle. Betsy showed me how!! I’m so thankful for her guidance and friendship.
