3 Ways To Stay Motivated In Your Workout Routine

Let’s be real, sometimes working out gets boring. Whether you lack the motivation or are tired of the same old routine we’ve all been there! But, this is no reason to give up on your fitness journey. Use these tips to update your workout routine and reignite your motivation. 

Check out my favorite tips below. 

  1. Find A Workout Buddy

Working out with a friend makes it more fun! This gives you an opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new people, or have a good excuse to grab a healthy meal with a friend post-workout! Maybe you can’t do every single workout together, but find a schedule that works for both of you. By having someone rely on you, you are immediately holding yourself accountable to stick to a plan. 

Also, during a workout, you and your partner can challenge each other to keep going. The encouragement you will give (and receive) will push you to do your best! If they go one step further, won’t you too? 

  1. Switch It Up

If you keep doing the same workout your body will plateau because you’re doing the same exercises over and over. The same goes for your mind – you will eventually get sick of the same routine! Changing your regime will not only challenge your physical capacity, but will sustain your interest in fitness over a long period of time. 

Switch between HIIT workouts, pilates, barre, yoga, resistance training, weightlifting, various forms of cardio- you name it! By changing up your workout routine you can find endless ways to stay active and motivated. 

  1. Get Outside

Finding new ways to remain active is a great excuse to try different outdoor hobbies like hiking, biking, running, or swimming. A change of scenery can boost your mood and stimulate your mind. 

Getting outside is also an opportunity to explore new areas of your city. Take advantage of your surroundings when you can! Find a day when the weather is nice and try one of these outdoor activities. 

My favorite part about these tips is that you can incorporate all of them together! I encourage you to try one or more of these ideas to get you excited about your workout routine again. Take one step today by finding a workout buddy, trying a new workout, or getting outside!
